If October was a busy month for you, you’re not alone. Home sales in the DFW area saw a 13 percent increase in October, compared to October of 2016, according to a report by the Dallas Morning News.
More than 9,000 preowned single-family homes sold in October, setting a new record for the number of houses sold during that month, the Dallas Morning News states, using data they collected from the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University and the North Texas Real Estate Information Systems.
The number of homes that hit the market in October is up 11 percent since 2016. In total, more than 21,000 houses were listed for sale with real estate agents at the end of October, and it took an average of 46 days to sell the houses. Plus, the median home sales prices increased by 7 percent from a year ago.
