Community Impact News recently published a detailed look at Anthony Ricciardelli and Rick Smith, two newcomers to city government who were elected to the council in June after they campaigned against apartment-dense developments. The report explains how developers with interest in mixed-use developments involving multifamily housing in Plano “may have to clear steeper hurdles now that two new apartment critics have joined the Plano City Council.”

Ricciardelli and Smith were endorsed by Plano Future, a group that has been seeking to limit apartment expansion in the city and whose spokesperson, Allan Samara, believes at least half of the council’s membership is now receptive to its goals, the article states.
