Why is it important to be pre-approved?

It’s important to know your price range, based on your income, assets and credit, before you start shopping for a home. Make sure you know exactly how much house you can afford, so you can feel confident making an offer as soon as you find your dream home.

What are the steps for gaining pre-approval?

  1. Give us a ring. Call Michael Hawkins at 972-369-6913 to learn more about our team and discuss what you want to accomplish and when.
  2. Put it on paper. Make a free loan application online through our website.
  3. Gather documents. You will typically need to provide proof of income through documents like pay stubs, bank statements and a W2 from the last two years. Sometimes the documents vary, so wait to gather documents until Michael gives you the go-ahead.
  4. Receive your pre-qualification letter.
  5. Make an offer. Work with your realtor to find your dream home, and we’ll guide you through the rest.

Why choose us?

Michael Hawkins has more than 17 years of experience as a mortgage consultant, and he continues to establish himself as a nationally ranked and locally trusted expert. If you ever have any questions or concerns throughout the process, Michael or his loan assistant Kristie are just an email or phone call away.

He was voted D Magazine’s “Best Loan Officers” and Texas Monthly’s “Five Star Award Winners.” Last year Scotsman Guide listed Michael Hawkins as the 8th top producing loan officer in Texas. And last but not least, Hawkins Mortgage Group is supported by First United Bank’s in-house processing, underwriting and closing.

We’ll make your home-buying experience as easy as possible, and hopefully you’ll even learn some things along the way.
